I blame the fact that men have been raised with a misconstrued “face of feminism” on women, just as much as I blame men. It is a never ending cycle of learned behavior, which needs to change. Women that have been raised by (and then later marry) egotistical men, that have brainwashed them into thinking that women are some how inferior to them, go on the raise their children with the same unfortunate values.
The part that perked me the most about the “Feminist Survey: Men on the Streets” clip was when a man said, “The bible says very clearly that the man is the head of the household” and his wife (whom is well aware of what the word “feminist” stands for) just stood next to him with a slight grin on her face. Those are the women that I am specifically talking about in my previous paragraph. She has been brainwashed by a man, who does not even know what he is talking about.
The Bible says in Ephesians 5:23-24: "For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything." This scripture is misunderstood, because it is taken out of context. Some interpret the verse to say that men are superior; that they have dictatorial rights and can run their families like tyrants, but the Bible does not say that.
Paul (verse 25-28) states: "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it, that might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives." God also states (I Peter 3:7): "Likewise you husbands, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the [physically] weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered."
God placed the husband as head of the family to lead, guide and inspire; not as a dictator, but as a loving authority that puts his wife and children as the highest priority in his life. Marriage was created when God created Adam and Eve. Neither of the first humans was complete without the one another. Together, a man and wife become a team; two people, making one complete unit. In Genesis 2:24, God says of marriage, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."
Women need to embrace and understand the meaning of the word “feminist” and we need to go on to teach our children these important, life changing values. “Feminists” are not just manly women or lesbians; they women beautiful, vibrant, sophisticated women that choose to live in a women’s world and not fall to egotistical, male ideals of women inferiority.
